Kyiv and Kharkiv
Dread of Chernobyl unfolded by sweet Granny,
Her shaky voice mirrors scorpion crawl of fiery,
Thy piggyback on Mommy and darting to wheel,
Daddy’s ceasing radioactive was a fearless zeal.
Roar of explosions trembles thy Mom’s steering,
Curly roads huge potholes clamour and colliding,
Mayday! Mayday!! Chernobyl Nuclear disaster,
Scary people were pulling pushing yelling faster.
These thundering bangs of tanks relatively feeble,
Our escape to Kyiv in Eighties sans any Roubles,
Camouflage donning people comparatively brutal,
Nuclear particles were lethal but not xenophobes.
Kyiv and Kharkiv is cordon by our own brothers,
Standing valorously to save Chernobyl’s mothers,
Now slaughtering their people crossing borders,
They can’t recall soviet blood having same odour.
I knew a holy land which is preacher of spirituality,
They are chanter of Mantras for World’s tranquillity,
I wish to live under their insignia blooms equality,
We will board their ship to earn elegant nationality.
